Mission Statement

Something new that seems like others may use/enjoy/participate in?!?!?! Total first draft of the route/map/everything. Looking for feedback on everything here, especially what the route should be?

Route Purpose

1: Connect ALL of the west coast backpacking trails (S->N Backbone Trail, Condor Trail, Lost Coast Trail, Bigfoot Trail, OR Coast Route, Pacific Northwest Trail, and the Canada West Coast Trail.

2: Visit and walk ALL of the American west coast beach towns and cities…. SD/LA/SF/PDX/SEA and everything in between

3: PCT Connector links to enable loops and connections i.e. CA/WA/OR loops, whole PCT loop, etc. Include public transportation options and hiking options (PNT and Bigfoot Trail)

Map Purpose

1: FREE simple map data GitHub downloads starting with this route (and ALL?!?! other trails/PCT next?!). Load into your free map of preference. Because it’s all free you can use the good background maps (hello Farout, thanks for paying to use cheap background maps!! 🤷🤣)

2: SIMPLE map layers: Redline, blueline for alternates and sidetrips and 4 point layers to cover everything: water, food, camping, sidetrips
